Darth is a Sony Vaio RX-550. Stock, these come with serveral build in
systems and cards with XP drivers, but not support for previous or alternate
OSes. The video card that shipped with it was an ASUS 3300 AGP board.
The on-board NIC is a RealTek RTL8139A/B/C chipset, and runs rather smoothly.
And the sound is a SoundMax based PCI chip. You can get all their
respective drivers from the company sites, or just grab them here.
The remainder of the devices (USB, FireWire, IDE, etc) have multi-OS drivers
right on the driver CD that comes with the system.
Also note, that the Sony CRX175E is supported by most major CD burning
packages, including NTI, Nero, and even CDRDAO for linux (and the DOS port).
All are better alternatives than the B-crap software that shipped with it IMHO.
