Even want to have your computer do maintenance and shut down at the end
of the day? With Windows© 95+ and 98+, you can schedule all kinds of
events to happen when you're gone, but you can't make it cleanly shut
the system down when its done. Here is the solution!
How it works.
Basically, all you have to do is run this program when you're ready
for your system to shut down. You can put it in a batch script, or
schedule an event to run it. It pops up a dialog, giving you up to
two minutes to pause or cancel the shutdown. After that time, or when
you press the Shutdown Now button, the program automatically shuts down
Windows©. But what if one of the applications has locked up? Thats ok!
Once the shutdown signal has been sent, Shutdown© waits for up to a
minute, and then sends a more forceful message, telling Windows© to just
terminate applications, rather then letting them clean up gracefully.
So even if your programs lock up, your system will still power down.
And now, if your computer is green-compliant, your system will even power-off!
