Shadow is the energetic ball of fur that every parent dreads. He's constantly
going where he shouldn't, getting into things, and eating anything that fits
in his mouth. He's the explorer of the group, and charges right into
anything that looks unfamiliar, from under a chair to inside the dryer.
This natural curiosity leaves him in odd spots some times, like in the
bathtub, unable to get out the same way he got in.
If anyone is missing, Shadow wants to know where they are. Hes always
near his brothers, and when one is gone, he'll find him and bark at him
until he joins the group. On some occasions neither brother wants to
go visit the other, and shadow will run from one room to the next,
barking at them both.
Shadow is also very playful, and enjoys running,
fighting, and jumping. While playing he'll sometimes laydown or play
dead, trying to lure one of the others closer so he can lunge at them.
This often backfires when Piglet is playing though, as he'll sneek up
behind Shadow and catch him laying down. (Shadow is NOT the
brightest of the three by any means.)
One thing Shadow can do that the other two dogs can't is cry. He can
cause his eyes to tear up, usualy when you take a bone from him, or
scold him for being bad. Even with this though, he still hasn't
prefected his facial expressions, or his ears, so some of the effect
is lost.
Shadow, like his brother Piglet, also has a luxating patella. In
fact, he has it in both legs, though for now his muscles keep the
bone from moving. The vet sayes as long as he remains active and
fit, it shouldn't be a problem. We expect this is something we
will have to deal with in 10 to 15 years or so, when he slows down
and starts being less active.
